International mediators are preparing to resume six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear program, a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
Pyongyang pulled out of talks with Russia, Japan, China, the United States and South Korea last April after the United Nations condemned the communist state's missile tests.
"The six are currently holding consultations in order to resume the talks," Andrei Nesterenko said.
He added that Russia was in favor of pre-talk consultations between Seoul and Pyongyang.
