Russia's Alisa Kleibanova reached the quarterfinals of the 2010 Kremlin Cup tennis tournament in Moscow after defeating Italy's Sara Erani.
In a late night Wednesday match Kleibanova managed to defeat the Italian player in straight sets 7-6 (7-0), 6-4.
The 21-year-old Russian will now play for the spot in the semifinals against tournament's 2nd-seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus.
Azarenka earlier reached the quarterfinals after three-set victory over Germany's Andrea Petkovic 6-4, 2-6, 6-1.
