NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will visit Moscow on November 5, his spokesman said on Wednesday.
Rasmussen will hold negotiations with Russian leaders ahead of a Russia-NATO Council summit due on November 20 in Lisbon, Portugal, James Appathurai said.
The NATO head will also discuss cooperation on Afghanistan, in particular expanding rail transit of NATO shipments via Russian territory and the training of Afghan anti-drug specialists.
Other topics will include "Euro-missile defense," the fight against international terrorism and sea piracy.
Appathurai said NATO was planning to ask for 20-21 Russian helicopters to be delivered to Afghanistan, adding that delivery terms had yet to be discussed.
