A militant was killed and a policemen was wounded in a shootout in the city of Kaspiisk, in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, a local police source said on Tuesday.
The militant was killed in a result of a special police operation conducted by republic's Federal Security Service and the Interior Ministry.
The source said the militant had a gun and a suicide bomber's belt, which was later demined by sappers. His identity is currently being established.
According to the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, more than half of all terrorist attacks in the North Caucasus in 2010 have occurred in Dagestan.
