Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych expects that plans for a visa-free regime with the EU will be approved at the Ukraine-EU summit in Brussels on November 22.
"We expect that we will get the approval by the European Union for the introduction of a non-visa regime for short trips at the summit," Yanukovych told Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski in Kiev on Wednesday.
He said Ukraine could soon comply with all the conditions provided by an action plan.
"The action plan we hope to get will be an important task for Ukraine which I believe we will soon accomplish," Yanukovych said.
Yanukovych has made euro-integration a priority and wants the country to obtain EU associate member status before the end of 2010. He has also vowed to stay out of Western military blocs and build closer relations with Russia.
