An improvised explosive devise had been recovered from railway tracks in Russia's northwestern Leningrad region and later defused, Russia's Investigative Committee said on Sunday.
The improvised bomb was uncovered on Saturday. It was not powerful enough to destroy the railway tracks, the Investigative Committee said after bomb-disposal experts neutralized the find.
Rail traffic on the line had not been suspended. No one has been affected.
