The death toll from Haiti's cholera epidemic has topped 900, the Caribbean's country health ministry said on Sunday.
At least 917 people have died and 14,600 hospitalized since the disease broke out more than three weeks ago, the statement on the ministry's website said.
Six of the 10 provinces of the country are affected, with the central province of Artibonite the epicenter of the epidemic, the statement said.
UN reports say another 200,000 people could contract cholera as it rapidly spreads across that country while it still struggles to cope with the aftermath of the January 12 earthquake that killed over 250,000 people.
More than $160 million in aid is needed over the next year to stop the outbreak, UN says.
