The bomb that went off at a railway station near Russia's Olympic city of Sochi damaged rail and halted train communication for a while in the area but there were no casualties in the incident, local police reported on Sunday.
The bomb went off late on Saturday at the Matsesta railway station, the police said.
"According to preliminary data, the bomb explosion had the force of about 1 kg in TNT equivalent," the police said.
The damage had been repaired by about 5:00 a.m. on Sunday and train traffic resumed in full, the police said.
Russia's Black Sea resort city of Sochi will host the 2014 Winter Olympics.
