The work of the Moscow city government should be open and transparent, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Friday.
"Everything the government does should be presented on the Internet to the maximum degree: each solution, each step and project should be available," Sobyanin said at a forum on relations between society and the authorities.
Sobyanin cited the project to solve the Russian capital's transport problems as an example of such openness.
"We made the discussion public. We are receiving hundreds and thousands of proposals, and we will try to take them into account," he said.
Sobyanin earlier pledged to eliminate Moscow's notorious traffic jams. President Dmitry Medvedev has said he will personally oversee the efforts.
Sobyanin replaced long-serving Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov, fired in late September by Medvedev over a "loss of confidence." Luzhkov had in particular been criticized for his inability to deal with Moscow's traffic problems.
