Gazprom has written off a debt of $810 million, owed to it by the Swiss-registered RosUkrEnergo gas transportation company, the Russian gas giant's press service said on Monday.
Ukraine's national energy company Naftogaz also agreed to return 12.1 billion cubic meters of gas to RosUkrEnergo under a deal sealed on Monday between the three companies.
In June, the Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal ruled that Naftogaz owed its former gas transit intermediary RosUkrEnergo 11 billion cubic meters of gas, saying it was illegally confiscated last year, as well as fines of 1.1 billion cubic meters.
The deal also envisages that RosUkrEnergo pays off a debt of $1.7 billion to Naftogaz.
