Organizers of the monthly Day of Wrath rallies have applied for permission to hold a protest in front of Moscow's City Hall on December 12, the Left Front movement said Tuesday.
Unlike the recent Strategy 31 protests in defense of the freedom of assembly, recently permitted by City Hall, the Day of Wrath rallies have yet to be sanctioned by the authorities.
The Day of Wrath protests were traditionally directed against the policies of Yury Luzhkov, mayor since 1992 before he was sacked by President Dmitry Medvedev in October over a "loss of confidence."
On November 12, demonstrators protested against recent attacks on a journalist and an environmental activist.
During the November 12 Day of Wrath rally, a police officer was injured by a flare. Left Front activist Grigory Torbeyev was later charged over the incident.
