The recently released WikiLeaks files are not critical for Russian-U.S. relations, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday.

WikiLeaks made public on Monday more than 250,000 confidential U.S. diplomatic cables, which contain, in particular, harsh comments about many world leaders.

"We are not paranoid and we do not link Russian-American relations with any leaks, although the leaks are revealing. They show a full measure of cynicism of those evaluations and judgments that often prevail in the foreign policy of various states, in this case I am referring to the United States," Medvedev said.

"I do not see anything critical, especially because discussions can be different," Medvedev said.

The president added that the United States would also "get a lot of pleasure" from Russian diplomatic cable leaks.

The cables leaked by the WikiLeaks website are so "comical" that they cannot possibly affect Russian-U.S. relations, a spokesman for Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.

Julian Assange, the enigmatic founder of the WikiLeaks, said it could take at least seven years to study all the secret materials archived by his whistleblower website.

Speaking in a video interview with the Russian Reporter magazine, Assange said that the leaked documents were just a small portion of the materials that he has, and more "waves" should be expected in the next month and a half.
