Polling stations will open across Poland on Sunday as the country will hold the second round of local elections.
Voters will chose candidates for local councils, provincial assemblies, as well as mayors of 55 cities, including the country's second largest city of Krakow.
The first round of polls took place in the country on November 21. Candidates of the ruling liberal Civic Platform party received 222 out of 561 mandates in local assemblies, those of the opposition Justice and Development party led by Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the brother of late Polish President Lech Kaczynski, gained 141 mandates, and representatives of the Polish People's Party and the Democratic Left Alliance 93 and 85 mandates, respectively.
