Russian President Dmitry Medvedev discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Nicholas Sarkozy on Wednesday.
The two leaders also exchanged opinions on the recent Russia-EU summit in Brussels, which Medvedev participated in, the Kremlin said.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Francois Fillon are set to discuss cooperation in energy and advanced technology on Thursday in Moscow.
A range of intergovernmental and commercial documents are expected to be signed after the meeting.
