A five-year old Muscovite has won a competition to choose a name for Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's new puppy.
Dima Sokolov, who chose the winning name of Buffy, visited the prime minister and his new pet at the Novo Ogarevo governmental residence near Moscow on Thursday evening.
The puppy was given to Putin by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov after talks in Sofia on November 13. The prime minister, who never turns down the chance of a photo shoot with a fluffy animal, hugged it affectionately and kissed it on the nose.
Buffy joins a black Labrador called Connie and two poodles in the Putin household menagerie.
