Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Friday joined world famous actors and entertainers in St. Petersburg at a charity event for children diagnosed with cancer. During the event, Putin played the Russian song From Where Does the Motherland Begin on the piano.

Putin sang this song in July during the meeting with ten Russian agents deported from the United States.

"Like most people, I can neither sing, nor play but I like to do it," Putin said before the performance.

Guests of the charity event, held in the Ice Palace in Russia's second largest city, included Sharon Stone, Kevin Costner, Monica Belucci (in the photo), Vincent Cassel, Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Paul Anka, Mickey Rourke, Alain Delon (in the photo), Ornella Muti, Ingrid, and Gerard Depardieu.

After playing the piano, Putin took a microphone.

He sang a song in English with jazz performers.

The prime minister sang another song in Russia, Grass by our house by the popular Soviet band Zemlyane.

The performance received a standing ovation.

Money raised at the charity event will be donated to cancer centers to buy diagnostic equipment, medical instruments and medicines.

The stars have been visiting children's medical centers, hospitals and orphanages in Moscow and St. Petersburg, meeting with children and giving them presents.
