A total of eight people, including three children, died in fire in the city of Vologda, in central European Russia, local emergency ministry said.
The fire occurred late Friday in one of the apartment blocks. Early on Saturday the fire was extinguished. "Eight people died," the statement said. "The apartment block is burnt down totally."
The causes of the fire are under investigation.
