The Russian president and Indian premier said in a joint statement following the talks that Russia and India were satisfied with the contracts on joint military cooperation.

Medvedev said India deserved becoming a member of the UN Security Council if the decision was approved on its expansion.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also met with the Indian opposition leader Sushma Swaraj. The meeting was held at the Taj Palace Hotel where the Russian leader was staying. Swaraj heads the leading opposition party, Indian People's Party.
