Services at Moscow's Domodedovo airport are expected to return to normal within the next two hours following a major power cut caused by snow and freezing temperatures, emergency officials said on Sunday.
More than 8,000 passengers were left stranded at Domodedovo airport, Russia's busiest, as over 100 flights were grounded after two electricity substations were knocked out earlier on Sunday. Some rail services have also been disrupted.
Officials said the power cut left 140,000 people without electricity in the Moscow Region.
Moscow's other two main airports, Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo, are operating normally, although several Air France flights in and out of Sheremetyevo have been cancelled or delayed due to an alleged shortage of de-icing fluid.
