Belarus has released all the Russian nationals detained in the country's capital of Minsk during a protest rally against the reelection of President Alexander Lukashenko, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
Eleven Russians were detained following the December 19 presidential polls, which saw Lukashenko win a landslide to secure a fourth term in office. The opposition alleged vote rigging.
Police dispersed the demonstration when the crowd tried to storm parliament following the announcement of the election results.
More than 600 protesters were detained and many injured, and the Russians were handed jail sentences of between 10 and 15 days.
