The Quartet of powers engaged in the Middle East peace process will meet in Munich on February 5, the spokeswoman for EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said on Thursday.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will attend the meeting with European Commission Vice President Ashton on the sidelines of the annual Munich Security Conference, Maja Kocijancic said at a news briefing.
Direct talks between the Israelis and Palestinians, which resumed last September after a 20-month standoff, collapsed in December after Israel refused to stop construction in the occupied West Bank.
The Quartet is made up of Russia, the United States, the United Nations and the European Union.
