A U.S. court has postponed a trial against a Russian 'drug trafficker' cargo pilot until April 4, a lawyer said on Monday.

A U.S. court has postponed a trial against a Russian 'drug trafficker' cargo pilot until April 4, a lawyer said on Monday.

"The start of the trial was postponed because the judge had a tight schedule," lawyer Anna Brown told RIA Novosti.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency arrested Konstantin Yaroshenko in Liberia in May. Four tons of cocaine were seized in the bust.

The trial was due to begin on February 28.

Russia accused the United States of kidnapping Yaroshenko after notification of his arrest was sent to the wrong country.

Yaroshenko's lawyers say evidence against him was wrongfully obtained and point to numerous violations during his arrest.
