A resident of the Kurgan Region in the Urals who killed his terminally ill wife following a request from her has been charged with murder, investigators said Tuesday.
The 59-year-old man strangled his 55-year-old wife, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, using a belt on January 9. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
"The man explained that the woman had suffered from a serious oncologic illness," a report said, adding that the man said he "acted proceeding from humane motives."
