Russia's financial assistance programs in developing countries are not getting enough media coverage, a government financial official said on Wednesday.
Andrei Bokarev, head of the international financial politics department at the Russian Finance Ministry, said the government should spend more on publicizing the country's massive international economic aid program.
"At the moment the federal budget does not include such expenditure...but if we want to get a result, sooner or later, we will have to move in this direction," Bokarev told a World Bank forum in Moscow.
Russia plans to spend around $500 million a year on aid programs in the next few years.
