The maestro’s admirers adore the vast range of his voice – from the light and tender part in “L'elisir d'amore” by Donizetti to the manful “dark” Othello in Verdi’s opera. His repertoire comprises 100 parts.
The singer’s parents were famous Zarzuela performers – a Spanish comedy genre with dancing and spoken and sung scenes. As for Domingo, apart from opera arias, he also performs popular Italian, Spanish and American songs.
In addition, Domingo is general director of the Los Angeles Opera and of the Washington National Opera.
