Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said on Friday he was ready for new blood tests to close a chapter on his poisoning case.
Yushchenko was summoned to the country's Prosecutor General's Office on Thursday for questioning. He was informed that the investigation team leading the probe into the 2004 incident has been changed.
"I was summoned to give testimony as a victim, something I did eagerly because I am trying to do draw a line under this case," Yushchenko told reporters.
Yushchenko said he was ready to give additional blood samples, but wants an explanation over the previous tests.
"It should become clear for society what happened to the first tests, who is to blame and what was wrong with them," he said, referring to 2005 tests.
Yushchenko was poisoned in the run-up to the 2004 presidential election with TCDD - the most harmful known dioxin - leaving him with a badly disfigured face.
