Three militants, including a local terrorist group leader, have been killed in the Russian North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, the National Antiterrorism Committee said Friday.
A committee spokesman said law enforcement officers tried to stop a Lada 2109 car, but militants inside it opened fire and were killed by return fire.
Attacks on police and officials are frequent in Russia's volatile North Caucasus republics.
