Russia is ready to accept from its partners advice on how to overcome existing difficulties, but not lessons, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday in his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
"We have not yet achieved outstanding success [in overcoming difficulties,] but we are determined to move forward," Medvedev said. "We are learning ourselves, and we are ready to accept friendly advice, but, of course, we do not need to be taught, we should rather work together," he continued.
"I would like to say that Russia does have plenty of difficulties in building a legal state and in establishing a modern, efficient economy," the Russian leader said.
"Russia faces the greatest challenges of terrorism and extremism, Russia has plenty of social problems, although in recent years they have become less, and finally, Russia and all those who make decisions within it [the country] are not immune from common mistakes," he added.
Medvedev said that the international community should understand that Russia faces serious changes as it develops and moves forward.
