Five police officers were killed and one injured on Wednesday in an attack in Russia's volatile North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.
Unidentified assailants broke into a cafe where road traffic police officers were having lunch and shot them execution style, a spokesman for the federal investigative committee said.
Four policemen died on the spot and the other was hospitalized.
A criminal investigation has been opened.
Earlier in the day, another police officer was reported killed in a drive-by shooting in the same area.
