Thousands of anti-Mubarak protestors continue to gather on Cairo's Tahrir Square demanding the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported on Saturday.

More than 10,000 protestors were already on the capital's main square in the afternoon, with huge crowds standing in lines of over 100 meters long to pass through the several security checks done by the military.

Both the military personnel and protestors have been showing restraint and not letting the situation get out of control. The military are following tight security with pat downs and passport checks every 20 meters on the way onto the square.

Foreigners are being allowed onto Tahrir Square and at almost every security check tell you "Welcome to Egypt," and also say "sorry" while shaking your hand.

Protestors created a 100-meter long "hallway" near the square, greeting newcomers with loud chants, applause and songs. Men, women and children stroll down the middle of the man-made corridor smiling and joining in on the chants making their way to the "main event."

Tent cities have been set up on the square and protestors bring food they have prepared to those who have been there for days. Protestors are handing out food to the military as well. Tea is brewed on makeshift stoves made from loose bricks with a small fire.

On the square a man was holding a picket sign that read: "Mubarak leave! My wife misses me at home."

Streams of thousands from all directions in the city are snaking their way to join their fellow Egyptians in the movement to oust the current government that has been in power for 30 years.

Protest organizers say that over 1 million are expected to gather on the square on Sunday.
