Millions of protesters have swept Egypt's largest cities since January 25, calling for Mubarak to step down.

The Egyptian president imposed a curfew from 7 pm until 6 am in Greater Cairo, Alexandria and Suez on January 28. As of Monday, the curfew will begin at 8 pm.

Security forces were removed from Cairo's streets on January 28 and many residents unofficially took up law enforcement duties. On Monday traffic police returned to the streets of Cairo.

Crowds of clients seeking access to their accounts continue to mob Egypt's private and state banks, which reopened on Sunday after almost a week of closure.
