Tens of thousands of demonstrators gathered on Cairo's central Tahrir Square on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a third week of anti-government protests in Egypt.
The protesters are still demanding the removal of long-standing President Hosni Mubarak, despite a government pledge on Monday to raise public-sector wages and pensions by 15%.
Protesters have called for further nationwide street protests on February 11 in an effort to keep the momentum going.
Nearly 300 people have been killed across Egypt in the protests.
