A Prague court has rejected a request from Ukraine to extradite former Ukrainian economics minister Bohdan Danylyshyn, national TV reported on Wednesday.
Danylyshyn was granted political asylum in the Czech Republic last month.
Ukrainian prosecutors have charged Danylyshyn - an ally of opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko - with abuse of office and misspending $1.75 million of state funds. He was arrested in the Czech Republic on an Interpol warrant last October.
Danylyshyn has denied the accusations, saying they are politically motivated.
Several members of Tymoshenko's former cabinet have also been accused of abuse of office.
Tymoshenko, who was ousted as prime minister after her narrow defeat to Viktor Yanukovych in last February's presidential election, has been accused of illegally diverting $425 million meant for environmental projects into pension funds.
