Russian diplomats are marking their professional holiday on Thursday.
The Diplomats' Day was established on October 31, 2002 by then President Vladimir Putin's decree and is celebrated on February 10.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich told RIA Novosti that the ministry will host a solemn ceremony that will be addressed by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and other state officials.
Lukashevich praised top Russian diplomats, saying they are "first class professionals that any diplomatic service can be proud of."
