Russia's January industrial output rose 6.7% compared to the same month last year, the Federal Statistics Service said on Tuesday.
"The industrial output index in January 2011 amounted to 106.7% compared with January 2010 and to 89.1% against December 2010," the service said.
Manufacturing industry grew most in January, posting a 13.5% increase year-on-year. Production and distribution of electricity, gas and water in January fell by 3.4% compared to last January and slipped 0.4% compared to last December.
Natural resources extraction grew by 3.5% in January but decreased by 1.4% compared to December 2010.
