Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Tuesday rebuked officials over poor conditions in Moscow's hospitals.
Recent figures suggest more than 50 percent of Muscovites are not satisfied with the medical assistance they receive.
"The condition of many medical institutions in Moscow is unsatisfactory," Putin told a meeting with healthcare authorities at a Moscow hospital.
"There are many luxury centers, both commercial and state-owned, but the majority of Moscow's hospitals are in need of some serious attention from the city authorities and federal center."
He said many hospitals lack air conditioning and suggested that patients should be provided with electronic cards to avoid having to stand in lines for the doctors.
