Police have killed a militant during a special operation in Khasavyurt, Russia's North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, a spokesman for Russia's National Anti-Terrorist Committee said on Sunday.
The militant was a member of an armed gang, formerly led by Adam Guseynov, who was killed in an operation by the Federal Security Service in Khasavyurt in late January.
The killed militant is suspected of having murdered a woman and her daughter on Saturday night. A 5-year-old girl was hospitalized with gunshot wounds following the attack.
