The reset in relations between Russia and the United States is working for the whole world, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said during his visit to Moscow on Thursday.
"The reset is working, working for all of us, working for Russia and I would, presumptuously, say working for the world," Biden said in a speech at Moscow State University.
Biden said trade between the countries is just as beneficial for the United States as it is for Russia.
"It's better for America and I believe better for Russia to be able to trade with each other under predictable and transparent rules," he said.
Russian-U.S. trade was worth $23.5 billion last year, accounting for just 3.8% of Russia's total foreign trade.
Biden is in Moscow on March 9-10 for an official visit amid a political thaw. Bilateral talks have been focusing on improving business relations, missile defense and Russia's bid to join the WTO.
On Thursday, Biden backed Russia's WTO bid, but suggested it will hinge on its human rights record.
