The Russian government should avoid spending all surplus oil revenues to curb inflation, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said on Thursday.
"We need to refrain from spending all surplus oil revenues to cut the rates of inflation," Kudrin said.
Kudrin said the Finance Ministry was receiving requests from Russian ministries and departments for additional budget funds amid soaring world oil prices but was unprepared to meet them.
Kudrin said the situation with inflation in Russia was more optimistic than a month ago but the authorities should not ease the fiscal policy.
