An anonymous caller on Friday claimed that a bomb had been planted at the southwest Moscow office of the national gas giant Gazprom, a police source said.
"Police and emergencies personnel have arrived at the scene...Dog handlers are currently searching the building," the source said.
The phone number of the anonymous caller has been determined, the source added.
There have been around a dozen hoax bomb warnings across Russia in the past week, with universities, courts and other public buildings targeted.
