U.S. President Barack Obama said Libyan strongman Muammar Gaddafi must give up power, adding that the military operation in Libya was aimed not at toppling the dictator but at preventing a humanitarian crisis and protecting civilians.
"I have... stated that it is U.S. policy that Gaddafi needs to go," Obama said during a press conference in Santiago, Chile.
