Britons are the worst possible tourists, while Russians are the rudest people abroad, a survey held by UK-based flight comparison website Skyscanner has revealed.
The pollster asked 1,000 respondents about tourists from different nations. The outcome of the survey was announced on Wednesday. Britons are worst offenders in almost each "bad behavior" category. They "won" for not learning the local language, being drunk and disorderly, not trying local food and leaving stingy tips.
Russians managed to beat Brits in rudeness, though. However, what is evaluated as "rudeness" in the West is usually regarded merely as straightforwardness in Russia, Skyscanner's manager on development of Russian and CIS markets Dmitry Konovalov commented.
Scandinavians, Australians and Japanese were deemed model tourists.
