At least nine people have been killed in a blast at a chemical plant in north-eastern China, Xinhua reported on Thursday.
The explosion ripped through the Fuxing Chemical Plant in the China's Heilongjiang Province at about 10:10 pm local time on Wednesday (14:00 GMT), Xinhua said, quoting local officials.
Fourteen people were inside the building when the blast occurred, the news agency said. Nine people died on the scene while the other five people fled the building.
Firemen managed to extinguish a fire that engulfed the plant as a result of the blast, the report said. Investigators are currently trying to establish the cause of the blast.
