Modernization will become the key theme of Russia's 2012 presidency of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday.
"We plan to make this a key issue of our next year's presidency in APEC," the Russian leader said at the opening ceremony of the Forum for Asia in China's Boao.
The Russian leader also invited the Boao forum's participants to the XV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum to be held on June 16-18.
