On Friday, Russian businessman Evgeny Yurchenko paid $2.9 million at New York’s Sotheby’s for a Soviet-made Vostok spaceship capsule that was launched 18 days prior to Yury Gagarin's first manned space flight. Yurchenko pledged to return the piece of history to Russia.
