A Moscow Regional court has thrown out a lawsuit lodged by a young woman badly injured in a car crash on January 19 involving presidential envoy Garry Minkh.

Alyona Yarosh, 23, was badly injured when the BMW sedan carrying Minkh, the Kremlin envoy to the State Duma, collided with her Opel Astra near Moscow after driving into the oncoming lane.

The court refused to recognize Yarosh, who is formally a witness, as the "victim" of the accident, thus making her ineligible for any compensation claim.

Her lawyers said they would appeal

Minkh's driver died at the scene.

The Kremlin has denied the envoy's responsibility for the crash.

Yarosh has alleged that investigators suppressed some of the evidence. In particular, her lawyers claimed investigators refused to record evidence that traffic police had moved pieces of her wrecked car from one side of the road to the other.
