Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze will pay on Tuesday a short working visit to the Armenian capital of Yerevan, Armenia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"Vashadze will meet with Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandyan to discuss implementation of agreements reached between Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili," the statement said.

Last time Vashadze paid an official visit to Armenia in October of 2010, when he criticized Armenia for hosting a Russian military base, which according to him poses a threat to the Georgian national security.

Russia and Armenia signed a deal last August extending the term of a 1995 bilateral treaty on the Russian 102nd Military Base at Gyumri, northwestern Armenia, from 25 to 49 years.

The base, which is under the command of Russia's North Caucasus Military District, is part of the integrated air defense system of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
