The court has postponed the consideration of appeal against a guilty verdict filed by former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky and former head of Menatep financial group Platon Lebedev until May 24. Presiding judge Vladimir Usov explained Tuesday that the Moscow City Court received extra cassation appeals.

The appeal filed by Khodorkovsky and Lebedev disputes the sentence of 14 years in minimum-security prison for oil theft and laundering the proceeds. They also demand that the criminal case against them be closed due to the absence of the criminal event and corpus delicti. The verdict has been appealed and thus has not entered into legal force.
Four lawyers represent Khodorkovsky and Lebedev in court.
