Russian Helicopters, Russia’s state holding company, showcased a range of mass-produced Mi-8/17, Mi-26T, Ka-62, Mi-34S1 and Ansat civilian helicopters. The centerpiece of Russian Helicopters’ display was the Ka-226T light helicopter with coaxial rotor arrangement.

Visitors also had the opportunity to learn about the latest Ka-52 Alligator and Mi-28N Night Hunter attack helicopters. The exhibition also featured the second prototype of the new Mi-38 medium transport helicopter, which made its first long-distance flight in autumn 2010 from Kazan to Moscow.

The latest modification of the Ka-32A multi-purpose rescue helicopter – the Ka-32A11BC – was parked near the entrance of the Crocus Expo building, the site of HeliRussia-2011.

This helicopter, along with a second, firefighting Ka-32A11BC, equipped with a water cannon for horizontal firefighting, was donated to Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry before the exhibition.

Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said that interest in the Russian market is growing among the world’s leading helicopter manufacturers.
