Irina Lichis’ exhibition, “People Who Amaze Us” opened in Moscow on May 26. The artist presented portraits of Michael Jackson, Charlie Chaplin, Madonna, well-known surgeon Leonid Roshal and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev all drawn with coffee.
Irina Lichis started using coffee instead of paint two years ago. The more she practiced, the more skilled she became at estimating the needed concentration of coffee by eye.
Her collection includes dozens of “coffee: portraits” including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Ray Charles, Bob Marley, soccer stars, Maradonna, Messi, Andrei Arshavin, as well as copies of works by Vincent Van Gogh, Jack Vettriano and Brent Heighton.
